It is anticipated that the next big thing in the mobile networks is about to be revealed in the coming years. 5G network is expected to be officially launched in 2020
, though several operators have already demonstrated it in the year 2018 including Telstra, Korea Telecom, China Telecom and Vodafone.
The data speed of 5G will be much faster than the former networks. The downloading speed of 5G is expected to reach up to 20Gbps in a completely favorable environment. However, the average expected speed would be 1Gbps. On the contrary, the average downloading speed of 4G provided by Vodafone is between 80Mbps to 150Mbps.
This advancement will strengthen and augment the workability of the Internet of Things. As speed is the pre-requisite for smooth running of IoT, 5G will provide the infrastructure required for the transmission of huge data. The responsiveness and reliability of 5G will assist in the elevation of industrial automation, resulting in the emergence of better business models. Being the fastest mobile network, 5G will enable intensify the progress of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Self-driven cars, and E-commerce.
